It was summer 2021 and I had just moved into my new 3 bedroom apartment. Feeling beyond proud of myself, that I could afford such a luxury in Manhattan, I couldn’t wait to get started with all my interior designs I had in mine for each space. Now, maybe it was pure excitement or staying busy shopping for home online, I had never paid too much attention to the outside noise, after all it is New York City and as a NY native most of us need the noise just for a good night sleep. Until the very noise is coming from inside your own apartment or at least that’s how it appeared. I was disturbed by the sound of thumping feet above me along with yelling and screaming. “Do I call 911? What the hell is going on?“ I thought to myself, but as I tried to put it out my mind it eventually stopped and I went to sleep. Fast forward to 3 months later, the noise has been consistent and never ending. One day while home after the 4th bowling ball rolled across my head I said that’s it and stormed upstairs to the apartment above me. I knocked knocked and knocked before this woman came to the door. “Hi I’m you neighbor right underneath you, I just moved in about 3 months ago. And I have noticed a lot of noise mainly stomping at all hours of the night. I don’t want to disrupt what u have going on, however I was just wondering if at all possible if you can keep the noise to a minimum”. After being told I should enquire about my neighbors before moving in and having door slammed in my face. I didn’t know what else to do and today I still live with the nightmare neighbor.
